Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, then remove from the pot.
  3. Add onions and garlic to the pot, sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in balsamic vinegar, beef broth, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  5. Return the brisket to the pot, cover, and simmer on low heat for 3-4 hours until tender.
  6. Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with the onion sauce.
