- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Chocolate shavings or crushed peppermint candies for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and cocoa powder, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form. Mix in the peppermint extract and set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the egg whites with salt until they form stiff peaks. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture in three additions, being careful not to deflate the mousse.
- Once fully combined, spoon the mousse into serving dishes or glasses. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or crushed peppermint candies.
