Description
This caramelized pear tart combines buttery pastry with sweet, caramelized pears for a delicious dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 3 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your tart pan.
- Transfer the pastry to the tart pan and trim the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent it from puffing up.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the sliced pears to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pears are tender and caramelized.
- Arrange the caramelized pears evenly over the puff pastry.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Feel free to add nuts or dried fruits for added texture and flavor.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
