Description
Celebrate Memorial Day with delicious BBQ ribs that are tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Perfect for grilling and serving at your backyard cookout!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of baby back ribs
- 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 300°F).
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and mustard powder.
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Rub the olive oil over the ribs, then coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
- Place the ribs on the grill bone-side down. Close the lid and grill for 2.5 to 3 hours, turning occasionally, until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bones.
- During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce, allowing it to caramelize over the heat.
- Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the ribs in the spice mixture overnight in the refrigerator.
- Feel free to use your favorite store-bought BBQ sauce or make your own from scratch.
- These ribs can also be cooked in the oven at 300°F for 2 to 3 hours if a grill is not available.
