  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  2. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.
  6. Serve the Korean beef over cooked rice.

Notes

  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra nutrition.
  • If you prefer a spicy kick, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce.
