Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir until combined and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. While the beef is simmering, steam the broccoli and carrots until tender.
  4. To serve, place cooked rice in bowls and top with the beef mixture, steamed vegetables, and sliced green onions.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to add other veggies like bell peppers or snap peas.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
