Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape into 4 equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, then set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and add sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute.
  6. Pour in beef broth and Dijon mustard, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return the patties to the pan and simmer for 5 minutes to absorb flavors.
