Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the lean ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat.
  6. Stir in black beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
