  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, cheddar cheese, and cooked sausage or bacon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  4. Add the egg mixture to the hash brown mixture and stir until fully combined. If using, add the diced bell peppers and onions.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.

Notes

  • You can customize this casserole by adding your favorite vegetables or using different types of cheese.
