- 1 (30 oz) package frozen hash browns, thawed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
- 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, cheddar cheese, and cooked sausage or bacon.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
- Add the egg mixture to the hash brown mixture and stir until fully combined. If using, add the diced bell peppers and onions.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.
Notes
- You can customize this casserole by adding your favorite vegetables or using different types of cheese.
- This dish can be prepared the night before and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
