- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Pita bread or rice, for serving
- Toppings: sliced cucumber, tomato, onion, tahini sauce, or yogurt
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Stir in the cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the beef mixture until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Serve the ground beef shawarma in pita bread or over rice, topped with your choice of cucumber, tomato, onion, tahini sauce, or yogurt.
