Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Ribeye steaks
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 large Potatoes
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Grated cheese (e.g., Gruyère or Cheddar)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Rub the ribeye steaks with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  4. While the steaks are grilling, prepare the potato gratin. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Slice the potatoes thinly and layer them in a greased baking dish.
  6. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter until melted. Pour over the potatoes.
  7. Sprinkle the grated cheese and fresh thyme on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Once the ribeye is done, let it rest for a few minutes before serving with the potato gratin.

Notes

  • Feel free to add additional herbs or spices to the ribeye rub for extra flavor.
