These grilled fish tacos are topped with a crunchy cabbage slaw and a zesty lime crema, making for a delicious and refreshing meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 medium carrot (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup coriander (chopped)
  • 1 lime (cut into wedges for serving)
  • 8 tortillas (corn or flour)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for lime crema)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the fish fillets and coat them in the marinade. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. While the fish is marinating, prepare the cabbage slaw by combining cabbage, shredded carrot, and chopped coriander in a large bowl. Set aside.
  4. Grill the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and flaky.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the sour cream with lime juice and a pinch of salt to create the lime crema.
  6. To assemble, warm the tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds each side. Place a piece of grilled fish on each tortilla, top with cabbage slaw, and drizzle with lime crema.
  7. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños to the slaw.
  • Feel free to substitute the fish with shrimp or grilled chicken.
