Description
A delicious and healthy snack made from frozen banana slices coated in creamy peanut butter and dipped in chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
- Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the bananas into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
- Spread a small amount of peanut butter on one side of each banana slice and top with another slice to create a sandwich.
- Place the banana sandwiches on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1 hour.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- Dip each frozen banana sandwich in the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- Return the chocolate-coated banana bites to the baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Freeze for an additional 1-2 hours until the chocolate is set. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer.
Notes
- You can substitute almond butter or any nut butter of your choice for peanut butter.
- Add toppings like crushed nuts or sprinkles before the chocolate hardens for extra flavor and texture.
- These bites are best consumed within a week for optimal freshness.
