- 6 fresh peaches (peeled, pitted, and sliced)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tablespoons butter (diced)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for brushing the crust)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using). Mix gently until the peaches are well coated.
- Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie pan. Pour the peach mixture into the crust, dotting with diced butter.
- Cover with a second pie crust, crimping the edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top crust with milk and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Allow the pie to cool before slicing and serving.
