  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

These Easy Campfire Nachos in Foil are a fun and delicious way to enjoy nachos while camping or at a backyard fire. Layered with your favorite toppings, they cook perfectly in just a few minutes over the fire.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for serving)
  • 1/2 cup guacamole (for serving)
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Prepare a square piece of aluminum foil, about 18 inches long.
  2. Layer half of the tortilla chips in the center of the foil.
  3. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the chips, followed by half of the black beans, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, black olives, and green onions.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining chips, cheese, beans, tomatoes, jalapeños, olives, and green onions.
  5. Fold the foil over the nacho layers, sealing the edges tightly to create a packet.
  6. Place the foil packet on a grill over the campfire, or on hot coals. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Carefully remove the packet from the fire using tongs. Open the foil packet cautiously to avoid steam.
  8. Serve with sour cream and guacamole on the side.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize your nachos with other toppings like cooked ground beef, chicken, or additional vegetables.
  • Make sure to seal the foil packet well to prevent any toppings from falling out.
  • For added flavor, season the layers with taco seasoning or your favorite spices.
