Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in boiling water. The batter will be thin.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely.

- Store the cake in an airtight container to keep it moist.
- You can add chocolate ganache or frosting for extra flavor.
