Description
A simple and tasty recipe for homemade chicken tenders coated with crushed Doritos for a crunchy, flavorful twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken tenders (or chicken breasts cut into strips)
- 1 bag (9.75 oz) Doritos (any flavor, but Nacho Cheese works well)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Cooking spray or oil for baking
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray or oil.
- Crush the Doritos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
- In one bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. Place the crushed Doritos in a third bowl.
- Dip each chicken tender in the flour mixture, then the egg, and finally coat with the Doritos crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the coated tenders on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use any Doritos flavor for variety—Cool Ranch or Spicy Nacho work great too.
- For extra crunch, broil for the last 1-2 minutes (watch closely to avoid burning).
- If frying, heat oil to 350°F and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
