Deviled Eggs: The Perfect Classic Recipe for Any Gathering

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • for garnish paprika
  • for garnish chives or parsley

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, cover the pan, remove from heat, and let it sit for 12 minutes.
  3. After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place them in a bowl.
  5. Mash the yolks with a fork and mix in mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  6. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  7. Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with chives or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of relish or minced garlic to the yolk mixture.
  • Store leftover deviled eggs in the refrigerator for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
