These crispy fried chicken wings are perfectly seasoned and fried to golden perfection. The ideal appetizer or game day snack!

- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until well coated with the spice mixture.
- Pour the buttermilk over the wings and allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
- In a separate bowl, place the all-purpose flour.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the wings from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour, making sure they are fully coated.
- Fry the wings in batches for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Make sure not to overcrowd the pot.
- Remove the wings from the oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
