Description

Delicious and crispy crab cakes made with fresh crab meat, seasoned to perfection, and pan-fried until golden brown.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb crab meat (fresh or canned, picked over for shells)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (plus more for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons green onion (finely chopped)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • for frying olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, beaten egg, bread crumbs, green onion, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix gently until all ingredients are combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
  3. Form the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Coat each patty with additional bread crumbs.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
