Elevate your Christmas dinner with these easy, stress-free recipes that feel festive and special. Perfect for a cozy family gathering or a larger celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 lb) whole turkey, thawed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, cut into chunks
  • 2 celery stalks, cut into chunks
  • 4 cups stuffing mix
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the softened butter, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently loosen the skin of the turkey and spread half of the herb butter mixture under the skin, rubbing the rest all over the outside of the turkey.
  4. Place the onion, carrots, and celery in the bottom of a roasting pan. Pour chicken broth over the vegetables.
  5. Stuff the turkey cavity with the stuffing mix, dried cranberries, and chopped pecans. Tie the legs together with kitchen twine.
  6. Place the turkey on a rack in the roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven. Baste every 30 minutes with the pan juices. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), about 3 to 4 hours.
  7. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
  8. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy a stress-free Christmas dinner!

Notes

  • For a quicker prep, you can purchase pre-stuffed turkey or use store-bought stuffing.
  • Feel free to swap out herbs based on your preference or what’s available.
  • Don’t forget to prepare a few simple sides, like roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes, to complement the turkey.
