Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak the chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) in the refrigerator.
  2. In another bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each tender in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
  6. Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  7. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double dip the chicken in buttermilk and flour.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for added flavor.
