- 1 pound chicken breast tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, soak the chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) in the refrigerator.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each tender in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double dip the chicken in buttermilk and flour.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for added flavor.
