Description
A classic Korean dish featuring marinated and grilled beef that is savory, sweet, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, and gochugaru. Mix well.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and mix until well coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Heat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
- Remove the beef from the heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh ribeye or sirloin for tender beef.
- Serve bulgogi beef with steamed rice and side dishes like kimchi.
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the skillet while cooking.
