Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in oil and vanilla extract.
  6. Alternately add flour mixture and milk, starting and ending with flour.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before serving.
