Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup tahini sauce or garlic sauce

- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Warm the pita breads in a skillet or microwave until soft.
- To assemble the sandwich, place a portion of the cooked beef in the center of each pita. Top with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
- Drizzle with tahini sauce or garlic sauce, then fold the pita around the filling and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can customize your shawarma with additional toppings such as pickles or hot sauce.
- For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the beef marinade.
