  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or flatbreads for serving
  • Fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions) for garnish
  • Tahini sauce or garlic sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, vinegar, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and mix well to coat all the pieces. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill or cook the beef for about 3-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  5. Once cooked, remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into smaller pieces.
  6. Serve the beef in pita bread or flatbreads, topped with fresh veggies and drizzled with tahini sauce or garlic sauce.
