These BBQ baked beans are the perfect side dish for any BBQ gathering. Packed with flavor and easy to make in large batches.

- 4 cans (15 oz each) of navy beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 pound cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the navy beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, onion, bell pepper, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, mustard powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- If using, add the crumbled bacon to the mixture.
- Transfer the bean mixture to a large baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the beans are bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the BBQ sauce to your taste; sweet, smoky, or spicy varieties all work well.
- These baked beans can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven before serving.
- To make this dish vegetarian, simply omit the bacon.
