- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth.
- Add the BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
- Pour the mac and cheese into a greased baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle evenly over the mac and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
